Guideposts
Plotting the exact path of my adventure into the new and unknown territory of changing the world through business is simply impossible.
However, no matter how much my path wavers–side to side, high, or low–it will inherit a particular uniformity by the guideposts which shape it into some form or order. These guideposts are the principles and values that have and will continually and constantly guide the path I trek.
- Guidepost #1: I Am Lucky and with a Responsibility
My life is blessed with so much. And although I have encountered some bumps along my path of life, I know these are really mere bumps compared to the mountains other people face. For these reasons, I believe I am lucky.
Time will test my trueness to this philosophy, for I am certain to find greater adversity in the future. I hope to hold strong, always comprehending how lucky I truly am and using this as an ever-present guidepost.
Understanding that I am lucky, I further believe I have a responsibility. By pure chance, I was blessed with my wonderful life. Many people could only dream for the opportunities I have. Fairness calls me help to society by sharing my many blessings with those less fortunate.
- Guidepost #2: We Are Equal
I am no better and no lesser than another person. No matter how extremely disparate one person is from another—in terms of success, wealth, intelligence, well-being—they are both equal. For every person is born with basic human dignity and equal rights to be their true self, to love, and to be loved.
- Guidepost #3: Be Myself - Listen to My Heart
Within each and every one of us is a truly a beautiful heart with the capacity to love oneself and others. Being myself means listening to my heart and acting purely through it. Through being myself, I will find and follow the right path that creates postive change in society and the world.
